I cannot wait for spring and spring break! We are heading down to Tennessee to see my husband's family and for Ethan to meet his Great Grandman and Great-Great Grandma. Very exciting! We are also going to be going to Chatanooga for the first time ever and for Ethan's first ever 'vacation'. It should be lots of fun. However, with the snow lingering and not getting snow day (much to my disappointment) I am ready for spring to come. I can't wait to get Ethan out in his jogging stroller and be able to start running outside again and just working out more!
Well, in the spirit of spring and trying to get a little bit ahead finally I made some books that I plan on using with my little ones this year. The morning class is just beginning to identify a couple numbers and counting to 10 by themselves, which is great to see! So I made some books to work on that, but of course we cannot forget colors as the morning class needs LOTS of repetition! The afternoon class we are really beginning to work on writing numbers and letters. Unfortunately that is a skill that many are struggling with. Even writing their name is a challenge for some so we need lots of practice and repetition! Positional words is another area that we need to continue practicing on for both morning and afternoon class.

Here are a couple of additional activities we did at Valentine's Day. We made the Queen of Hearts. Also, using and eye dropper we dropped paint onto construction paper and then folded it in half to make it symmetrical. The morning kids loved doing this and it was great for their finger strengthening.

This week we talked about teeth and the hygienist said this super cute rhyme to help the kids remember how to brush.

Up like an airplane,
Down like the rain
Back and forth like a choo-choo train.

The kids loved it and I thought it was super cute too!

Lastly, one of my co-workers made this for her bulletin board for March is reading month. I am making a different Pete the Cat door for March, which I will post as soon as it is done, but I just loved this! I will upload the shoes soon!

We got a new laptop yesterday which was pretty exciting and we bought a new wireless printer which I love! I can't believe we waited this long to get a wireless one!
Well, we had our Valentine's Day part, but for us the class runs pretty much the same (circle time, pass out Valentines, centers, snack and ending circle and then do again for the pm class). We do all Valentine activities though and have been all this past week.
I thought these mice were super cute that my co-worker made and we will definitely have to do this next year!
Last week we began learning about transportation and will revisit this theme again. We have been working on shapes and colors like crazy because so many of the kids in my morning still struggle to match them. To reinforce that skill we made a shape train and a shape boat.

Things have been super busy between Ethan beginning to teeth and no longer on a normal sleeping schedule to work having IEP's, report cards approaching, and getting a new student next week I feel like I am losing mind. Also, my laptop crashed and some of my documents were lost :( I am trying to learn how to use my husband's desktop mac, which I am not at all familiar with and it does not have any word programs or anything like that on here. This coming weekend though we hope to get the mac microsoft word program. So hopefully next weekend I will be able to post a few new things and post my pictures, which I am still attempting to figure out on this mac too. I am also beginning to look into completing my Early Childhood Masters. I am hoping to start classes up this spring-summer semester. Pure craziness trying to figure all of these things out. On a happy note though, my lil guy know how to roll over now and is a little chatterbox. He has began talking to me in the car in little goos and his favorite 'hi'. It is so much fun watching him grow up! This Friday he will be 4 months. So scary how quickly time has passed!!!
Tomorrow we are having our Valentine Day's party and I am pretty excited about! All the kids love passing out cards. They have been talking about it all week. Today during center they made their Valentine day bags and also learned some valentine words. They are given a picture of valentine related items and have to repeat the word. Then they glue the picture onto a piece of paper.
Well, I will post again soon, but I need to go take care of my little buddy. :)
