Here are some of the work tasks we have or are doing.

Counting out coins and putting them in the piggy bank (from Dollar Tree). The cards are available here.

You can get these cards in my Jungle Animals Same vs. Different Activities.

For this task students take the picture of the item, find the item and place it in the bag (diaper wipe bag).

Clip the letters. You can find these here.

These shape containers I got at the Dollar Tree. I just cut out some shapes for the kids to sort.

Students match the pom pom to the egg and close the egg. This is a favorite right now!

Students sort pipe cleaners by tall vs. short.

Sorting items by texture.

Counting out frogs.

Workbasket Wednesday at Autism Classroom News

I hope you got some fun ideas!

This week we played catch up on some of the things I didn't get to but wanted and also did some baseball activities.

1. We played this game. Draw a rock from the dump truck and identify it. The kids stamped the letter they drew. You can get the recording sheet here.

2. We laced baseballs.

4. Every year our third grade teachers do this project for black history month and I think it is really cool. They use torn paper to make the picture and they write up a certificate of birth for their person and why they chose them.

5. I saved the best for last...our Donor's Choose project got funded and we got some of the equipment in already! The kids were loving the tactile stepping discs and the megacrawler. The rest of the items are coming this Tuesday! If you are doing a Donor's Choose project be ready to promote it yourself. I did one a little over a year ago and they did all the promoting for me and I did not need to do any of that. Now that the company has grown you will have to do a lot more self promotion of the project. So make sure the amount is attainable for you. I will share more about the Donor's Choose project in a separate post soon! :)

Last, but not least please check out this giveaway at PreK Partner that I am participating in!

2.

3. We also did spin art shamrocks that I did not get the opportunity to take a picture of.

4. Today, I am taking my kids to visit the Easter Bunny and see a short play about the Last Supper so that should be fun.

5. Also, here is a farm freebie for you all. You can grab it here. You can use farm animal manipulatives to count or if you have Lakeshore fine motor tubs you can use manipulatives from there to count.

First off, Spring is in the air here in MI and I am loving it!!! We were able to go for a walk and I dragged out the sand box. The snow is still melting, but it is going away quickly and the sunshine makes me so happy!!!

Anyways, I have been working on some simple dramatic play props for my kiddos. I have found lots of great dramatic play resources, but have not found something just right for my kiddos. I want to get them talking and interacting. These are great for my kiddos that have limited language or are nonverbal.

Here is a full list of the items included:
Vet Office Sign (2 options) p. 5-6
Open/ Closed p. 7
Waiting Room Sign p. 8
Animal Information Card p. 9-11
Dr. I Need…tools p. 12-13
Dr. Report p. 14
Your Pet Needs p. 15-16
Sign In Sheet p.17
Vet Phone Card p. 18
Dr. Badge p. 19
Prescription p. 20
Receipt p. 21

For the dr report students just color in the smiley or sad face.

Here is a picture of what the veterinarian is prescribing to the pet. There are six options of what they may need.

Students will pick the card to provide information about their pet.

I can't wait to try this out with my kiddos. It will definitely help to get them talking and interacting!

I am linking up with Kacey to share what we were up to this week. You can link up here.

This week we did a little of this and a little of that. We learned about dinosaurs, but also finished up some other things that we haven't had the opportunity to do.
1. My kids have been loving the new water sensory bottles I made. I added water, glitter, beads, and food coloring to the sensory bottles. They have loved using the magnifying glass to look at the beads and bubbles too.

2. We have started some St. Patrick's Day activities...for this one they grab some coins out of a basket, count them, and then write the number.

3. We finally celebrated the 100th day of school this past Monday!

4. We built some roads and drove the cars.

5. We dug for dino bones and identified the letters.

We also counted out dinosaurs.

Last, but not least a St. Patrick's Day themed cut and paste w.s.  freebie.

Have a great weekend!
