Special Ed Teacher Must Haves

Here are the items I cannot live without!

1. Velcro! I use velcro for my adapted books, pictures, schedules, and a variety of other activities!
Hook & Loop Self Adhesive Dots

2. Lakeshore Trays! We use these for table time activities, defining space when completing arts tasks, and for quick and easy stacking of activities for the week (you can carry the tray right over and not lose any materials).
You can find them here.
3. Laminator and Laminating Pouches. Between laminating materials, visuals, and just about everything I did break down and buy my own laminator a few years ago and it has been fabulous! The lamination is way thicker and more durable than the one at school.

4. Flair Pens! Who doesn't love bright colors and they write great!

5. Oval Tubs from the Dollar Tree We use these to hold small manipulatives, adapted book pieces, scissors, glue, etc. They are the perfect size and great for sorting manipulatives too.

6. Clothespins. I use them at centers, in task boxes, and for my large visual schedule.

7. Clipboards. I use these all around the room for tracking student data (circle time, work boxes, individual student tally charts).
