I am linking up with Farley for the monthly currently.

Listening- to Pandora
Loving- Summer school finished today. It was another fun year. It flies by and you meet some great kids! I am also loving this 80s and sunny weather today! :)
Thinking-About all the things I need to get ready for heading back into my classroom on Monday. Monday will mostly be set-up and hopefully I can get some laminating done. Ethan will be with me so we will see how it goes.
Wanting- After we replaced the doors I noticed how filthy and yucky the paint in our hallway, living room and kitchen are! I really want to repaint, but I don't think I have the time this summer to tackle it. We will see.
Needing- B2S Must Haves: 1. lots of Velcro for schedules, matching names, file folder games, etc.
2. A new work bag (just got it yesterday for my bday) and comfy shoes (going to DSW today since I have a coupon!)
3. new pictures of Ethan. I miss him a lot while I am at work and need to have some updated pictures since he has grown so much this summer!
Here is a review of some of the things we did in summer school this past week.
We wrote about what the kids are looking forward to in Kindergarten. We used bubble wrap to make the water and added fish. We made some Chicka., Chicka Boom Boom hats.

We tried making bubble prints. I didn't get a picture of a completely finished one, but they turned out great. Blowing bubbles is great for the students sensory needs and even speech because of having to blow the bubbles. I had two little boys that had never blown bubbles before and they thought it was the best thing ever.
We came up with something we liked that began with the same letter as each of their names.
Have a great Thursday. Happy August (one of my little girls told me that as she left today. Too cute!)

I am linking up with I Heart Recess for Monthly Goals: Back to School.

Personal: I always find myself doing lots of work at home as soon as Ethan goes to bed. I need to make sure to set some time aside for myself.
Organization: My desk is organized chaos. I need to put everything away where it belongs right away rather than letting it just pile up.
Planning: I am one of two ECSE teachers in the south end and there are three teachers in the north end. I would like to plan with them more often if possible.
Professional: I have all of my PECS ready to go. I just need to use them effectively and consistently.
Students: Try to get them to have fun and meet all of their needs to the best of my ability. I have a lot of kids returning this year, which is nice because I know them and they know me. I know what works for them and what doesn't so I should be able to meet their needs more easily.
Motto: I feel like we are getting away from play and play leads to discovery. The kids want to learn more without even realizing they are learning when it is presented through play.
How a child plays, shows their strengths and abilities in creativity and social skills. It encourages them to think for themselves, and be their own person. One can learn a lot from watching a child play.

I am also linking up with Covered in Glitter and Glue for What I'm Loving Wednesday.

What are your back to school goals and what are you loving this Wednesday?!

I am linking up with Sticky Notes and Glitter for An Apple Day. This week is all about intervention.

ECSE is all about intervention.  Some of the interventions are simple and some are more complex depending on the students need and ability.  It may be a providing a different seating option for circle time or centers...

Or it may be giving the student a transition object to make the transition be less stressful. Last year's favorite was the American flag.

Also, a matchbox sized bus for coming into school or leaving.

One of my students last year also loved fake flowers.

The use of visuals is another huge thing. I have made lots of song visuals this summer. See last week's Monday Made It for some great sites to get visuals.

The arrangement and use of  schedules. This is the main schedule, but I also have the order of washing hands, getting snack, etc. displayed throughout the classroom. Make sure to stress the to do and all done.

First/ then card. Showing students what they need to do and then showing them what they get when that task is completed.

There are a lot more interventions done throughout the day from the scissors different students use to length of time they spend on an activity. Make sure to utilize your resource room teacher and support staff and check your Intermediate School District for other great resources too. All these people  can provide interventions for individual students or for the class as a whole.  I could not do my job without my fabulous support staff!

A great resource is the

You can get this on Amazon and it has LOTS of ideas and suggestions for everything!

What kind of interventions do you use?

I am linking up with Tara at Fourth Grade Frolics. Make sure to check it out for some great classroom ideas.
Well, it is my final week of summer school and I am heading back into my room this coming week. Yikes! Where did the summer go?!

Here are a few crafts I was able to make this week. Nice and easy ones!

I made some alphabet gems inspired by Polka Dot Kinders

I also made some felt letters. I used foam instead of paint chips like I saw at Make, Take, Teach.

I finally put labels on the containers I have in my bathroom. The jars are from Bath and Body Work candles. You can get the labels at www.thriftyandchic.com

I also decorated my clipboard with Washi Tape!

I found new student bag labels on pinterest, but when I went to print the labels I realized I did not have just 8 labels per sheet, so I made new labels with 10. If you want to print 8 you can too from Miss Kindergarten.
Last, but not least... I am having a Birthday Sale. My birthday is this Wednesday so from today to Wednesday my tpt store is all 20% off!

Also check out Oodles of Teaching for a great giveaway I am participating in.

Have a great Monday. I am off to summer school!
