I am linking up with Kacey at Doodle Bugs Teaching for Five for Friday.

1.  My classroom is all set and ready to go for new year. I still have to get some of my activities copied for the first two weeks of school and get all of the kids name labels completed, but until I have a class list that will have to wait. Make sure to check out my room reveal here.

2. I cannot wait to go on vacation. This past summer we have been hanging out at home a lot and have been quite busy, but it is still good to get away. I am sure Ethan will love the train museum and Air Force museum we plan on visiting! As well as the zoo and aquarium.

3. I am loving our weather today. Ethan and I were able to go to Lifetime to get in the pool and practice some of his skills from swim class.

4. Ethan's favorite day of the week is Friday because it is garbage day and he LOVES seeing the garbage trucks past by. Today after my run the garbage truck was headed to our house and we stopped to watch it. Well, the guy even got out of the truck to say hi to Ethan and made sure to honk the horn as the truck drove away. Ethan was thrilled beyond words to say the least!

5. A freebie. I should have probably posted this sooner as it is geared more towards spring and summer, but it can be used at anytime of the year. You can get it on tpt too.

Freebie Fridays

Today has been a super productive day! I guess that is what happens when your husband gets called into work at 5am and your son decides that is a great time to get up.
Anyways, here is my classroom.

A picture from the door.

The calendar area.

Rules, clip chart, schedule. I also got this big book holder. Someone was putting it into storage so I asked my principal if I could take it and she said I could. Now my big books will have a place rather than in between my file cabinet and the wall.

My para and my desk area. I couldn't move her desk over. The custodians said they would take care of that for me.

Some of my cabinets.

I cover up all of the toys because I have some little ones who love to dump and pull everything out. This discourages that.
The kitchen area.

This corner is where I run my language/academic center. I can see everyone from here.

This is the chart I use for my centers. The kids pictures will go under the pictures of the center (me, my aid, and play center).

I have Not Here and Here. I have name plates with their pictures on them. You can get them at Lakeshore. I take all of the pictures down and then I roll a ball to one student at a time and they share their name, age, and if ready address, phone number, and birthday. Then, they put their name up under the here.

Lakeshore Kids™ Photo Nameplates - Set of 36
At the door I have a picture of line up and stop. The stop tells them only teachers can touch the door.

A close up of my clip chart.

A close up of the mini schedule.

I will be handing out awards to my students for doing these task and they get their name put on the poster. The posters came from Kindergarten Works.

I put some of these around my classroom so my students have some guidance as what to do with the toys in that area. I have some similar cards for legos, blocks, and pegs.

I put up my welcome banner.

This is going to be our picture wall.

I am going to use these vocab cards (each go with a theme for the week) and we will practice these during circle time daily and then I will put them up on the picture wall.

I did lots of photocopying today. I copied my awards for doing the skills mentioned above.
Assessments are all copied and filed.

The Ziploc bags have the labels to return daily, clothes, and new student bag (given to students that begin after the start of the year).
I saw this particular activity on the Autism Helper. The sample she showed had pictures that did not pertain to my kids so I got on boardmaker today and made ones that would pertain to them. The first couple of weeks we are going to sort the pictures and then I think I am going to display this near my classroom rules so I can refer to it regularly.

To organize my awards I think I am going to clip them and buy some 3M strips to stick next to the posters.

Whew...that was a lot! How is your classroom coming along?! It is hard to believe the start of the school year is upon us. I won't be back into my classroom until pd because I am doing preschool screener at the north end of our district. It makes me very happy to know the room is set-up and things are somewhat ready for the first day.
You can link up with A Classy Collaboration or Surfin' Through Second to check out some other classrooms.
I am linking up with Covered in Glitter and Glue for What I'm Loving Wednesday.

1. The laminator at work. I was able to get the majority of my back to school things laminated and have been working on cutting them out. I still have not broken down and bought one yet. The one at work is free and works great so I have a hard time buying my own.

2. Today I got together with two friends. The first friend I got to meet her new baby, Nora for a short time and then I drove around the corner to meet another friend that just moved in to her new house. They literally live around the corner from each other so I am going to have to introduce them so they can hang out.  Jessica and I took Ethan to the Rainforest CafĂ©. He loved it! He is getting better about going to restaurants, but he could have probably stayed there for another hour.

What are you loving today?! Make sure to link up!

I am also linking up with the Bender Bunch to share my daily schedule.

What does your schedule look like?

Yesterday was a super productive day, which I love! I am hoping to finish setting up on Thursday and start copying my assessment files. I also have a few things left to laminate.

Here is the before:

Here is the after for today (excuse all the toys...Ethan was having fun playing with everything as I was putting things up).

I am hoping to tackle my desk and start getting things ready for the first week of school.

I will post more detailed and neater pictures of my classroom Thursday when my room is hopefully more together. Have you been able to get into your classroom? Is all of your furniture put in place or do you need to move it? This past year I had to move a few things, but for the most part everything is where I asked it to be. I will be

Hard to believe it is August and it is time to head into my room. I haven't had much time to make much between summer school finishing last Thursday and trying to get everything ready for heading into my classroom. Here are a few things I made and you can check out what others made at Tara's 4th Grade Frolics

Since I made that DIY light table I have been trying to think of things I can use with it.
I put stickers on bottle caps and the kids can put the letters in order or spell words with them. Ethan enjoyed playing with them too!

I love Panera Bread smoothies so and they give you those large transparent colored straws. I have been saving them thinking I would be able to use them for something and decided to try it on the light table. I cut the straws into smaller pieces and figured the kids can use tongs to grasp them and can sort them by color.

I made this for the laundry room. We are hoping to finish our basement and the laundry room. I have been creating a few things to hang up on the wall when it is completed. I used washi tape for the border and the words came from the Cricut in the freebie section. I got a scrapbook paper frame from Michaels and used that to mount the Subway sign.

Here is a freebie that I intend on using with my kiddos this school year. This will be great for my nonverbal students because they just have to clip the correct answer. You can get it on tpt or

Well, I am off to head into my classroom. Hopefully, I can be super productive and get most of the set-up done!
