This past week we talked all about the letter Aa, the color red, and apples. Here are some more activities we did.

We played a roll and cover game from my Yummy Apples unit. I had some of my students do the 1-6 and some do the 2-12 roll and cover depending on what they were ready for.

We sang Did You See My Apple song (there are yellow and green apples too). By the end of the week all of the kids are attempting to sing some part of it. We also sang Way Up High in the Apple Tree. You can get that in the Yummy Apples too.

With the morning class we didn't get the opportunity to make our yellow cherrios circle so we did that this week as well.

The pm class spelt their name with Cheerios.
We also tried out the pom-pom drop I made this past summer. The kids used the alligator tongs and matched the colors to the tube and then let the pom pom drop. All the kids had a lot of fun with this!

At the end I let them explore the bubble tongs, which was definitely more challenging for a lot of them.

For some of my early finishers this week we matched clothespins and colors.

Next we will be diving into fall. Have a great weekend!

I am linking up for Five for Friday with Doodle Bugs Teaching

This week we have been learning all about apples, the letter Aa, and color red.

1. The pm class made apple cores and the am class used their fingerprints to make apple trees.

2. We did an Apples in the Basket 1-10 counting book with bingo stampers.
3. We snipped red paper and made apple A's.

4. We painted with square sponges.

5. I also did some fine motor practice with my little ones. I got the apple cube tray in the dollar spot at Target.
I differentiated it depending on each of my students.
For those that are ready, we counted out 1-10 pom poms, some only are ready to do 1-5 and some are only ready to identify colors and then we counted all of the pom-poms at the end. The kids loved using the tweezers and pom-poms. We will definitely being doing something similar again soon!

Freebie Fridays

Fall is definitely in the air! This past weekend we went to the cider mill and got some cider and donuts. In preparation of next week when we will be learning about fall I typed up the I'm a Nut poem. I love this poem and I am sure my little ones will too!

To make it more interactive you could put it on an overhead and have the students find specific words or letters.

You can get it at tpt or tn
