I'm linking up with Kacey for 5 for Friday.

1. Happy 4th of July!

2.  I am finally almost done with Breaking Bad! I have been watching it since December and I am now in the final season episode 6 and I am hoping to finish it up in the next week or so! It is getting crazy good!

3. This past week we went to the beach and had a fun time playing in the water and playing on the playground. My dad came with us, which Ethan loves because he is a Grandpa's boy!

4. Last night we listened Detroit Symphony Orchestra at Greenfield Village.

5. Today Matt and I are celebrating our 5th wedding anniversary!

Have a fun 4th of July and great weekend!

This idea originally came from Teaching Special Thinkers. I have shared this a couple of times, but I just recently have gotten all the pics laminated and sorted into the appropriate box. I am going to keep one of these boxes at each of my centers.

To make this all you need is a DVD box and the pics you plan on using.

You can get the first/ then card here.

This should definitely help keep my pics in order so I can easily use them.

A couple of years ago some kindergarten teachers had a book study about this book and I just think it is an awesome resource for pre-k and kindergarten teachers.

Literacy Beginnings: A Prekindergarten Handbook

This book does a fabulous job of explaining how children develop in their reading and writing skills and how you can support this. There are LOTS of ideas that can be used in your classroom. The appendix of this book is huge with lots of resources. There is a nursery rhymes, poems, and songs section that lists the poems, etc., as well as, activities to do with these. There is also a list of books to use that is split into age and the month and theme that they would be appropriate. There are sample inquiry projects that incorporates all subject areas and literacy and language lessons. It is a great resource to have! I still refer back to it regularly for ideas.

You can find more great books at Mrs. Jump's class.

Listening- to the news like I do every morning

Loving- that it is summertime and this summer we don't really have any plans, which is a nice change. I've just been hanging out with my Ethan and Madi and catching up with friends.

Thinking- about the grocery shopping and trip to Target I need to do today.

Wanting- nothing...life is good right now.

Needing to get some new clothes. I am back down to my pre-pregnancy weight, but my shorts and pants and such just are not quite fitting the same so I need to get some new ones.

4th of July is my 5th wedding anniversary! Where has the time gone?! Matt has to work part of the day so I am taking the kids to a parade and later in the day we are going to have a bbq with friends.

You can link up with Farley here.

1. I have made a Facebook page. It is something I have been wanting to do and just now have found the time too. If you like it you will find a fan freebie! You can like my page here. Just remember it is a work in progress!

2. Birthday pencils

Link Shape Cards you can grab that here

3. Last, but not least I have made my new ABC word book. I did this last year in the pm class whenever we learned about a new letter. The students will come up with words that begin with that letter. It is a great way for me to assess what students can recall the words we have discussed that begin with that letter and an easy way for me to assess which students understand the letter and sound connection and which ones don't.

This is a sample of the words that we came up with last year. It normally just has the letter (which is what I got ready for next year).

What have you made?! Link up with 4th Grade Frolics and see what others have made!
