My kids were SUPER excited about these camping activities and it kept them bust for a few hours this morning! In the Let's Go Camping Literacy and Math Activities there is also dramatic play ideas. 

You can set up a camp. 

I made a fire out of two paper towel rolls and tissue paper. 

You can make smores. 

The kids can go fishing in boxes or large sterlite containers. 

And then can cook the fish over the fire. 

The magneitc fish are from Lakeshore Learning. 

You can lay out tracks and have your students go on a hike to find the animals and write them on the recording sheet.  

You can make bug boxes out of shoeboxes or these wood boxoes were $1 at Michaels. We used small rocks and easter grass so it doesn't go bad. 

Now on to the literacy and math activities.

There is matching camping items and beginning sound identification that is similar. 

Learning the camping vocabulary with Flip It, Say It, Smash It or Stamp It. 

Clip the size fish. 

Magnifying Glass Matching

Identifying what tracks are different. 

Fine Motor mats. You can use tongs and pom poms or playdough.

Identifying numbers 1-10 or the ABC's through these race to help games. 

Writing what they like to do when they camp. 

Go on a nature walk to find the different items. You can make binoculars to make the searching more fun!

Check off the items and they can collect some of them for their bug boxes.
